ABH strives to recognize, assist, and motivate the upcoming cohort of African entrepreneurs dedicated to effecting change in their communities, addressing critical challenges, and fostering a more sustainable, inclusive economy.
The initiative prioritizes inclusivity, welcoming applications from entrepreneurs across Africa, regardless of sector, age, or nationality, provided their businesses are formally registered and based in an African country, and have a three-year operational history.
Eligibility Criteria:
- You must be the founder or a co-founder of a company.
- You should be an African citizen or a direct descendant of an African citizen.
- Your company must be registered, headquartered, and primarily operating in an African country.
- Your company should have demonstrated market traction and at least 3 years of revenue.
Benefits Offered:
1. Grant Funds Allocation:
- Grant funds of up to $300,000 are available for successful applicants.
- The top 10 finalists will share a prize pool of $1.5 million in grants, ranging from $100,000 to $300,000.
- The winner receives $300,000, the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up receive $250,000 and $150,000 respectively.
- The remaining 7 finalists each receive $100,000.
- An additional $100,000 is allocated for global immersion training.
2. Global Recognition and Exposure:
- ABH showcases talented African entrepreneurs through press releases, social media, and news articles at every stage of the competition.
- Top 10 finalists receive extensive PR exposure and media coverage, gaining global recognition.
3. Access to Exclusive Entrepreneurship Community:
- Finalists join an exclusive community of impactful and successful entrepreneurs from across Africa.
- ABH organizes online and offline networking opportunities for entrepreneurs to connect and collaborate.
4. Mentorship from Business Icons:
- Finalists gain access to mentorship opportunities with global business icons, investors, and professionals during and after the competition.
5. Targeted Training Programs:
- ABH offers bespoke training programs covering financial management, marketing insights, understanding IP law, and more.
- Finalists can access additional programs and services such as investment readiness and management training through ABH’s network of partners and judges.
6. Insights and Feedback:
- Applicants receive guidance to strengthen their storytelling and pitching skills throughout the application process.
- Feedback is provided at each stage of the competition by business professionals and seasoned entrepreneurs, enhancing applicants‘ understanding of their business strategies.
