The Orange Social Venture Prize (OSVP) in Africa and the Middle East has been recognizing groundbreaking startup initiatives leveraging new technologies to drive positive change across various sectors including education, healthcare, e-commerce, agriculture, and the environment.
Now in its 14th edition, the prize welcomes submissions from candidates hailing from the 17 countries within the Orange network in the region. The competition consists of two stages: a national stage, where applications will be received until May, aiming to select three winners from each of the 17 subsidiaries. These winners will then advance to the international stage, where 10 finalists will vie for the prestigious International Grand Prize, and five will contend for the International Women’s Prize.
In October, a distinguished jury comprising prominent figures from the realms of technology and entrepreneurship in Africa and the Middle East will convene to select the three winners of the International Grand Prize and the recipient of the OSVP International Women’s Prize from a pool of 15 projects shortlisted by Orange Group employees.
Prize amounts include EUR25,000 (US$27,000) for the first prize winner, EUR15,000 (US$16,000) for the second prize winner, EUR10,000 (US$11,000) for the third prize winner, and EUR20,000 (US$22,000) for the winner of the International Women’s Prize.
