Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) has teamed up with the African Guarantee Fund (AGF) and FSDH Merchant Bank Limited to launch applications for the AWIEF Growth Accelerator Programme. This initiative is designed to help women-owned and women-led small and medium enterprises (WSMEs) in Nigeria gain better access to finance and markets.
AWIEF, a pan-African organization, is dedicated to empowering women by bridging gender gaps and promoting business leadership across the continent. The Growth Accelerator Programme plays a key role in this mission by offering support and resources to help WSMEs grow and succeed.
This program aligns with the African Development Bank’s Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa (AFAWA) initiative, which aims to unlock up to $3 billion in financing for WSMEs across Africa. AFAWA focuses on creating a supportive financial environment for women entrepreneurs, improving access to funding, and advancing gender equality in business.
As part of this collaboration:
- AGF, a leading non-bank financial institution, will act as the implementing partner for the AFAWA initiative, supporting economic development and job creation.
- FSDH Merchant Bank Limited will provide loan opportunities to WSMEs in Nigeria, ensuring they receive the financial backing needed to thrive.
This partnership aims to bridge the financing gap for innovative women-led businesses across key sectors in Nigeria. By empowering women entrepreneurs, the initiative contributes to economic growth, job creation, and gender equality in the business world.
