This Egyptian startup offers live gamified classes, guided by coding instructors, tailored for students aged 6-18. Its curriculum encompasses a wide array of subjects, including AI, VR, app development, game development, and web development.
Milestone Achievements: Revolutionizing Coding Education
As of today, iSchool boasts an impressive record, with over 26,000 active learners engaged in live sessions. The platform has delivered more than one million training hours, and its students have collectively written over 10 million lines of code. Collaborating with 35 schools, iSchool has been instrumental in providing technical training and computer science labs. This collaborative effort has also led to the management of national-level initiatives in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
In its latest feat, iSchool has secured a substantial $4.5 million in funding through a round led by VentureWave Capital, an Irish venture capital firm. Other contributors to this funding round include OneStop Capital UK, Webit Investment Network, and Oraseya Capital, the venture capital arm of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority.
The injection of capital is set to propel iSchool into an accelerated phase of expansion. The startup plans to extend its reach to six additional countries in the MENA region while establishing a presence in Ireland. This strategic move aims to elevate the company to a global scale, showcasing its commitment to providing quality coding education on an international level. Furthermore, the funding will support the establishment of a new team in Dublin, strengthening iSchool’s operational capabilities.
One of the primary objectives of this funding round is to facilitate the technological scaling of iSchool’s online coding platform. As demand for coding education continues to rise, the startup aims to enhance its platform to meet the evolving needs of learners. The infusion of funds will also play a crucial role in preparing for the extension of its gamified online classroom app service throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.
Mohamed Algawish, co-founder of iSchool, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with experienced and strategic investors. He highlighted the instrumental role these investors are expected to play not only in the future expansion of iSchool but also in the ongoing management of national-level initiatives in key regions.
The success and growth of iSchool underscore the increasing importance of coding education in the modern world. As technology continues to shape various industries, the demand for skilled coders is at an all-time high. iSchool’s innovative approach, combining gamification with live instruction, has not only garnered the interest of learners but also attracted strategic investors who recognize the potential for impactful change in the ed-tech landscape.
With a strong foundation laid in Egypt and successful initiatives managed in collaboration with schools and governments, iSchool is poised for a transformative journey. The infusion of $4.5 million in funding serves as a testament to the confidence investors have in the startup’s vision and its ability to shape the future of coding education globally. As iSchool embarks on its expansion into new territories and continues to enhance its technological offerings, it stands as a trailblazer in the ed-tech space, driving innovation and skill development on a global scale.
