In 2017, MDaaS Global launched its first diagnostic clinic for underserved communities, marking the beginning of its expansion to 17 locations across 10 Nigerian states. Leveraging a combination of its technology infrastructure and distributed care network, MDaaS Global has served over 275,000 patients to date and supports more than 1,300 healthcare facilities, companies, and HMOs relying on its BeaconHealth platform for diagnostics.
Recently, MDaaS Global secured a US$3 million Pre-Series A funding round, co-led by Aruwa Capital Management and follow-on investor Newtown Partners, with participation from Ventures Platform, one of its earliest institutional backers. This financing round brings MDaaS Global’s total investment to date to US$6.8 million.
The additional capital will fuel the development of MDaaS Global’s proprietary technology platform, BeaconOS, launched last year, and the expansion of its healthcare network to all 36 Nigerian states through a combination of company-owned and affiliate clinics. This strategic initiative aligns with MDaaS Global’s mission of democratizing access to high-quality diagnostics and healthcare services across Africa.
BeaconOS, MDaaS Global’s latest technology, serves as the digital backbone of its healthcare network, akin to a computer’s operating system, optimizing and connecting physical clinics as the ‘hardware’. Built on BeaconOS are a suite of applications designed to streamline healthcare delivery at BeaconHealth clinics and digitally integrate with the company’s diverse network of partner organizations.
CEO Oluwasoga Oni emphasized MDaaS Global’s deep understanding of Nigeria’s healthcare system, leveraging years of operational experience to develop technology tailored to the African healthcare landscape. BeaconOS empowers patients and partners with customized solutions, revolutionizing healthcare delivery across Africa.
With the influx of capital, MDaaS Global will develop new applications on the BeaconOS platform to address critical healthcare system challenges.
