Empowering South African EdTech Startups
South African ed-tech incubator Injini, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, has announced the launch of applications for the 2025 Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship. This program supports South African startups dedicated to transforming education through innovative solutions.

Injini’s Mission and Role
Founded in 2017 and operating as a non-profit under the UVU Africa Group, Injini is Sub-Saharan Africa’s sole ed-tech-focused accelerator. Its mission is to enhance educational outcomes across the region by increasing the quality, accessibility, and relevance of education. Through its Injini Think Tank, the incubator drives impactful programs and research to address key educational challenges.

What the Fellowship Offers
In collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, Injini provides selected startups a robust support package, including:

  • Direct grant funding
  • Product evaluation
  • Customized market research
  • Skills development and mentorship
  • Access to markets and networks

This initiative is designed to empower ed-tech startups with the resources and guidance needed to scale their innovative solutions, fostering better education in South Africa and beyond.
