Kenyan logistics tech startup Leta has officially launched in Accra, Ghana, marking its seventh market expansion in Africa. The move comes on the heels of a $5 million seed funding round secured in March 2025.
Founded in 2021 by Nick Joshi, Leta specializes in AI-powered logistics software that helps businesses optimize delivery routes, manage fleets, and cut transportation costs.
Ghana Expansion Begins with Major Client
Leta’s Ghana debut starts strong with its first client—Simbisa Brands Limited, one of Africa’s largest quick-service restaurant groups. With over 600 outlets in 11 countries, Simbisa presents a strategic entry point into Ghana’s logistics sector.
Joshi shared the milestone on LinkedIn, writing:
“We are officially live in Accra with our first customer on the ground.”
Backed by Strong Investors and AI Technology
Leta has now raised over $8 million in total funding. Its most recent round was led by Speedinvest, with additional backing from Google’s Africa Investment Fund and Equator.
The funds are being used to:
- Enhance Leta’s AI-powered logistics platform
- Scale operations across new markets
- Drive product innovation for supply chain efficiency
Impressive Growth Since 2022
Since its pre-seed round in 2022, Leta has achieved major milestones:
- 5x growth in revenue
- 4.5 million deliveries completed
- 150,000 tonnes of goods moved
- 7,400+ vehicles managed via its platform
Its client base includes notable names like KFC, EABL, Wells Fargo Courier, and Gilani’s.
Driving Africa’s Tech-Led Logistics Revolution
Leta is betting that technology—not more trucks—is the future of logistics in Africa. As businesses increasingly seek smarter delivery systems, Leta positions itself as a cost-effective, data-driven solution.
Joshi summed it up:
“With this capital, we’re looking to refine our product to empower more businesses with a cost-effective, data-driven supply chain.”
