Established in 2018, Yodawy is at the forefront of Egypt’s e-health landscape, facilitating seamless services for its partners, including insurance companies, medical providers, pharmacies, and pharmaceutical/FMCG companies. The startup’s mission is to broaden its partners’ reach and enhance the overall customer journey for patients throughout Egypt.
Yodawy has strategically developed a nationwide and technology-driven fulfillment infrastructure, ensuring its capacity to reach patients across the entire expanse of Egypt. A key milestone in its journey is the launch of a flagship e-prescription gateway, empowering physicians to transition to a paperless workflow.
In the initial close of its Series B funding round last February, Yodawy successfully raised an impressive $16 million. Building on this momentum, the startup has now secured an additional $10 million in capital from Ezdehar, a direct investment fund management company, through its Ezdehar 2 mid-cap fund. This latest infusion brings Yodawy’s total raised capital to an impressive $34.5 million.
The new capital injection is earmarked to fuel Yodawy’s ambitious growth plans, with a focus on expanding its customer base and fortifying its technology-enabled prescription fulfillment capabilities. The overarching goal is to generate greater value in the dynamic healthcare services market.
Karim Khashaba, CEO of Yodawy,
outlined the company’s vision to establish a comprehensive healthcare platform that directly addresses the core challenges within the sector. Khashaba emphasized the commitment to strengthening Yodawy’s position in the digital health domain in Egypt. By collaborating with insurance companies and healthcare service providers, Yodawy aims to enhance patients’ access to healthcare services while elevating their overall experience.
Amir El-Sharqy, the General Manager of Ezdehar, expressed confidence in Yodawy’s innovative approach and its effective model in serving both patients and healthcare providers. He highlighted Yodawy’s ability to identify and capitalize on untapped opportunities in the prescription and delivery sector, demonstrating a successful strategy that resonates with the needs of the market.
Yodawy’s success is rooted in its ability to navigate the evolving landscape of healthcare services in Egypt. The strategic combination of a robust fulfillment infrastructure, a paperless e-prescription gateway, and strategic partnerships positions Yodawy as a key player in the digital health ecosystem.
As Yodawy continues to evolve and expand its footprint, the latest funding from Ezdehar reaffirms investor confidence in the startup’s vision and capabilities. The additional capital injection sets the stage for Yodawy to not only address current challenges in the healthcare sector but also to pioneer innovative solutions that contribute to the advancement of digital health in Egypt.
