South African Entrepreneurs Encouraged to Apply for Irish Tech Challenge
South African entrepreneurs with ambitions to expand their solutions globally have until Sunday, 5 May, to submit their entries for the prestigious Irish Tech Challenge.
Collaborative Effort: The initiative is a joint effort between the Embassy of Ireland in South Africa, South Africa’s Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), and the Technology Innovation Agency. It is executed by Wits University’s Tshimologong Digital Precinct and Dogpatch Labs in Ireland.
Fostering Expansion: Building on the success of previous editions, the 2024 Irish Tech Challenge aims to facilitate the growth of South African tech enterprises that address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Focus Areas: The challenge welcomes applications from companies specializing in green technology, healthcare, education, and water sanitation and hygiene. These sectors are pivotal in addressing global challenges while fostering economic development and employment opportunities in South Africa.
Benefits for Participants: Startups selected for the Irish Tech Challenge will gain access to invaluable resources including global networks, mentorship opportunities, and expertise in tech entrepreneurship. Additionally, seven businesses will be chosen to receive €10,000 in grant funding, along with a 10-day immersive trip to Ireland. This trip is designed to facilitate connections with international clients and partners, engagement with Irish tech specialists, and support for business growth.
