Now in its fifth year, the AVCA Sustainable Investing in Africa Summit has become a leading platform for investors, business leaders, policymakers and development partners to explore the evolving role of private capital in shaping Africa’s sustainable future. The Summit explores best practices for investing with a sustainability lens, emerging trends and risks and innovative, homegrown solutions for long-term growth.

    Date: Thursday, 15 October 2026

    Venue: Jumeirah Carlton Tower, London

This year’s theme, Built to Last: The New Global Reality, reflects a world being reshaped by geopolitical fragmentation, climate volatility, technological disruption and shifting economic power. As traditional assumptions about growth, trade and investment are challenged, sustainability is increasingly being viewed through the lens of resilience. The conversation has therefore transitioned from intent to durability: what does it take to build capital, infrastructure and institutions that can withstand shocks and deliver long-term value?

“The Summit was intimate enough to have real, meaningful conversations, but large enough to put you in the room with the people driving change in the industry.” – 2025 Delegate

Against this backdrop, AVCA’s Sustainable Investing in Africa Summit will examine how investors are adapting to a world where resilience has become a defining investment principle. From climate adaptation and energy security to industrialisation, human capital and economic transformation, this flagship forum will isolate on how private capital can enable the development of economies and institutions that are truly built to last.

This year’s agenda centres on the continent’s most pressing challenges and its clearest opportunities, including:

    • Navigating a New Global Reality Determining how geopolitical fragmentation, shifting trade dynamics, climate volatility and technological disruption are reshaping investment priorities, capital flows and long-term value creation.

    • The Convergence of Sustainability and Resilience Exploring how investors are increasingly viewing sustainability through the lens of resilience.

    • Africa’s Strategic Opportunity Examining how the continent can leverage its natural resources, energy potential, demographic strengths and entrepreneurial ecosystem to drive industrialisation, competitiveness and sustainable growth.

    • Climate, Adaptation and the Transition Economy Identifying opportunities to finance climate resilience, adaptation and the transition to more sustainable and inclusive economic systems.

    • Innovation, Technology and Future Infrastructure Assessing how advances in technology, digitalisation and artificial intelligence are transforming industries, creating new investment opportunities and reshaping infrastructure needs.

    • Investing in People and Prosperity Understanding the critical role of health, education, skills development and food security in building resilient economies and supporting inclusive growth.

    • Measuring What Matters Moving beyond traditional reporting frameworks to better understand, quantify and demonstrate economic transformation, job creation and long-term impact.

    • Mobilising Capital for the Future Navigating how private capital, institutional investors, development finance institutions and policymakers can work together to unlock investment at scale and accelerate sustainable growth across Africa.

Discussions at the Summit are designed to challenge assumptions, sharpen strategy and identify practical pathways for deploying capital in a rapidly changing world.

Join us to explore how capital allocators, investors, founders, service providers, institutions and policymakers can build and unlock an Africa that reflects sustainable growth, economic resilience and shared prosperity in a new global reality.
