Accra-based impact fund manager Sahara Impact Ventures and Acumen have invested in Wami Agro to support the company’s next phase of growth.

Wami Agro connects Ghana’s smallholder farmers to finance, guidance and reliable markets.

The investment will strengthen operations, improve market access and help scale the business, including the establishment of a processing facility in Ghana.

Isaac Asomani, investment director at Sahara Impact Ventures, said: “Wami Agro demonstrates how commercially viable agricultural businesses can deliver meaningful impact. We see significant potential to scale its operations while improving farmer livelihoods, advancing women’s economic participation and strengthening climate resilience.”

Babatunde Usman, investment manager at Acumen, added: “What excites us about Wami Agro is how deliberately it connects these pieces, building a commercially viable agricultural value chain in which farmers and buyers can both succeed.”
