Epic Games is changing the Fortnite Crew subscription on December 5, raising the base monthly V-Bucks grant back to 1,000 and adding higher amounts for long-term subscribers, according to a post on the official Fortnite blog. The price of Fortnite Crew stays the same, but the monthly Crew skin, one of the subscription’s main perks, ends after December.
Fortnite Crew paid 1,000 V-Bucks per month for most of its existence. Earlier this year, Epic cut the grant to 800 following its V-Bucks price increases.
Fortnite Crew V-Bucks Tiers and New XP Bonus
From December 5, the monthly V-Bucks amount depends on how long a player has been subscribed without a break:
- 1,000 V-Bucks per month as the new base amount
- 1,200 V-Bucks per month after at least 3 consecutive months
- 1,400 V-Bucks per month after 6 consecutive months
- 1,600 V-Bucks per month from 12 months onward, the maximum
At the top level, a long-term subscriber receives twice the 800 V-Bucks that Crew paid after this year’s cut. Epic assigns the tiers automatically to current subscribers on December 5.
Current subscribers will be placed in a bronze, silver, or gold tier based on the number of consecutive months they have been subscribed in the last year as of December 5. Lapsed subscribers who resubscribe between December 5 and December 31 get a starting tier based on their most recent continuous subscription period over the past 12 months, Epic says.
Crew members also get faster progression. Subscribers will earn 20% more XP than players without Crew, while non-subscribers still receive a 10% XP bonus when they play on the same team as a subscriber.
Fortnite Crew Monthly Skins End After December
The monthly skin is the one perk going away. Crew skins have never been offered any other way, including in the regular Item Shop, which made them a key reason to subscribe. After December, subscribers will no longer receive one each month, which makes December the final month with a Crew skin included.
Epic is unlocking all remaining Legacy Styles in December for everyone who owns the related cosmetics, whether or not they are still subscribed. Legacy Styles are alternate color styles for certain Crew skins, back blings, and pickaxes that were previously unlocked over months of subscription.
Everything else stays in place. Crew continues to include the Battle Pass, Music Pass, LEGO Pass, and Rocket Pass Premium without separate purchases.
Former subscribers who want their past subscription history to count toward a higher starting tier need to resubscribe between December 5 and December 31. Epic has not said whether earlier Crew skins will ever be sold in the Item Shop once the monthly skins end.
