Mapletrite, a Canadian financial technology company specializing in cross-border payments and digital financial services, has officially been registered as a Payment Service Provider (PSP) by the Bank of Canada under the Retail Payment Activities Act (RPAA),

The registration marks a significant milestone in Mapletrite’s growth journey and reinforces the company’s commitment to operating within Canada’s regulatory framework while maintaining high standards of compliance, security, consumer protection, and operational excellence.

Founded with a mission to simplify global payments, Mapletrite enables individuals and businesses to send and receive money internationally through a secure, intuitive, and affordable digital platform. Today, the company serves customers across Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area (EEA), Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe, helping bridge financial connections between global markets.

As part of its international expansion strategy, Mapletrite has also established a subsidiary in the United Kingdom, strengthening its presence in Europe and expanding access to key global payment corridors.

Since launching its platform in late October 2025, Mapletrite has processed more than CAD $2 million in monthly transaction volume, reflecting growing customer adoption and increasing demand for secure, cross-border payment solutions.

The company recently completed the second phase of security testing for its platform and continues to invest in strengthening its technology infrastructure. Current innovation efforts are focused on enhancing security, improving accessibility, and delivering a seamless user experience across both consumer and business platforms.

Mapletrite’s product roadmap includes continued investment in:

    • Digital card infrastructure
    • Stablecoin-enabled payment capabilities
    • AI-powered fraud detection and security
    • Accessibility features, including support for visually impaired users
    • Enhanced business payment solutions and cross-border financial services

For customers, the Bank of Canada registration represents another important step in Mapletrite’s commitment to building a trusted, secure, and compliant payment platform designed for the future of global commerce.

“Being registered as a Payment Service Provider by the Bank of Canada is an important milestone in Mapletrite’s journey. It reflects our commitment to building a trusted, secure, and compliant global payments platform. As we continue expanding across the United Kingdom, Europe, and Africa, our focus remains on delivering innovative financial solutions that make moving money across borders simpler, smarter, and more accessible for individuals and businesses worldwide.”
    — Emmanuel Ariwodo, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Mapletrite Inc.

Looking ahead, Mapletrite remains focused on building the next generation of global payment infrastructure by combining regulatory compliance, intelligent technology, and customer-centric innovation. The company’s long-term vision is to make international financial services as seamless, secure, and accessible as everyday communication.
